Sifte

Privacy, in plain English.

Updated August 25, 2026.

What we collect

Our server gets your IP address, browser details, request time, and URL. That is normal web server stuff.

We save link suggestions, review status, vote direction, time, and coded abuse checks. One first-party cookie remembers your anonymous votes.

Why we use it

What becomes public

An approved phrase, title, URL, and note can go public. Vote hashes, review notes, limits, and server logs stay private.

Sharing and ads

We do not sell personal data. We share it only to run Sifte, obey the law, or stop abuse.

Sifte has no personal ads now. We are not building a creepy profile in the corner.

Retention

We keep records as long as we need them for rank, review, safety, disputes, or law. Host logs follow the host's schedule.

Your choices

You can search without an account. Clearing the cookie removes its browser ID, but it does not erase old coded vote records.
